SATA Express Takes Center Stage for SATA-IO Showcase at Storage Visions
SATA continues to be the dominant storage interface in the client marketplace. As such, SATA-IO incorporates new features to support the needs of the client and enterprise markets. However, the ongoing increases in performance of client SSDs and SSHDs have resulted in the need for an interface faster than SATA’s 6Gb/s. In response, SATA-IO developed the SATA Express specification, which supports up to two lanes of PCIe with a total bandwidth of 16Gb/s or up to two legacy SATA ports. This protects users’ technology investments while providing a path to higher performance.
With adoption on the rise, SATA-IO decided to make SATA Express the focus at this year’s Storage Visions Conference!
